Soil & Soul
A walking tour with regenerative soil experts and farm workers. Turmeric harvesting and processing with Mujeres de la Tierra members, women from the local village. Share golden milk and conversation, learning from each other through stories of farm work and daily life.
You walk the farm, and ride in the back of a farm truck. Soil under your shoes, uneven ground, a golden turmeric root in your gloved hands, earthy and fresh from the ground.
You harvest and process it. You share fresh golden milk. You sit with the women who grow it, in the place where they work. This is more than a show about a farm. It is a sharing of an undiscovered world.
For some travellers, you will find you leave with a new lens. A wider view of the world, seen through the lens of women from a small village in Mexico. And through your own lens, as a traveller from Canada and beyond.
Their daily life, work, family, and choices, set beside yours. Not as a lesson, and not as a demonstration, but as a conversation where both sides bring something. What you take from that wider view is up to you.
IDEAL IF YOU SEEK
Connecting with the local people doing exceptional things instead of standard sightseeing.
An unhurried pace to learn, ask and have conversations vs sitting through a lecture.
To experience a bit of a day in the life of real people doing real things, not a demonstration.
A deeper appreciation of these lands and their people
